Periodic Inspections It is a legal requirement
for all busineesses to ensure their wiring systems are functioning correctly
and will not pose a risk to persons or products. This is a requirement
of the electricity at work act 1989. Many insurance companies insist on
a "satisfactory certificate" before insuring properties.
The Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) have published a Guidance Note to accompany BS7671 (regulations for the installation of electrical equipment) which recommends frequency of the inspection and the types of testing to be carried out. This will include both live and dead testing. Included in the text is also the definitions of the test results to be included in the certification. As part of our testing proceedure S J H Contracting
will include a full certificate with all recorded results along with photographs
(if deemed necessary) and a written explanation of the findings of the
inspection.
